E-Read Texas is Moving to a New App!

Published on

The E-Read Texas program will be moving to the Boundless app starting October 1. The Boundless mobile app will replace the SimplyE mobile app that is currently in use by E-Read Texas libraries. Patrons will still have access to additional e-book and audiobook content they do now, just in a new app.

E-Read Texas is Moving to Boundless

What is E-Read Texas?

E-Read Texas is a statewide e-book program for select public libraries in Texas. E-Read Texas provides eligible libraries with a collection of over 20,000 e-books and audiobooks, and a subscription to a mobile app to access the titles.

What is Boundless?

Boundless is a mobile application developed by Baker & Taylor. The app offers easy-to-use features for patrons such as display controls, bookmarks, and notetaking. Boundless is also available for the web, so even users without a smart device can use it.

What if I already have an e-book checked out on SimplyE?

You can still continue to use what you already have checked out until item is due back. You cannot, however, check out any new books on the SimplyE app starting October 1.

Is LIBBY the same as Boundless and is it being replaced?

No, Libby and Boundless are two different apps. LIBBY is still BCS Public library System’s e-books and audiobook app used to access digital e-books and audiobooks. Boundless is another resource in addition to the wonderful selection this library system already has and is sponsored by Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC). Both can be accessed through apps or online.
