The Bryan + College Station Public Library System is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a mini-grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
This grant will be used to bring the Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World exhibition to Larry J. Ringer Library from Jan. 3 – 31. This is the first time in more than a decade that Ringer Library will be the host of an outside, museum-quality exhibition.
Exhibit tie-in activities and dates
Book clubs
To correspond with the exhibit both the Sunshine Book Club at Clara B. Mounce Public Library and the Classics Book Club at Ringer Library have selected The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin as their January title.
Benjamin Franklin Children’s Days at Mounce and Ringer libraries
Come sing songs and hear stories referencing some of Benjamin Franklin’s achievements, and take part in a kite-making craft session in remembrance of Franklin’s discovery of electricity.
These programs will not only help to teach kids about one of our founding fathers, but also inspire them as they hear of all the things Benjamin Franklin did in his life, even at a young age.
